A further stroke of misfortune occurred when we spent the first half of the day attempting to get our Eurail pass validated. Based on misinformation given to us, we were sent from station to station to station until finally, the station where we were to validate our pass at advised us we needed to do it on the first day of travel.
Because of this, we missed out on seeing the Palace of Vesailles . And to top it off, the Louvre was closed, although we were able to explore its elaborate exterior.
In the mood to see some art, we then headed over the this bridge to visit the Musee d’Orsay.
We marvelled at every piece we saw. Having caught the Masters Exhibition in Canberra a year earlier, we were also fortunate enough to see the most famous impressionist pieces for a second time. We enjoyed revisiting many famous works of Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, and even the work of some neo-impressionists such as Dali.
Unfortunately, due to security protocol, we were prohibited from taking photos.
The pub where we had dinner that night had multicoloured neon lights and Jason got creative with the photography…
